Terms of Use

These terms cover the use of hairlossrescue.com, anything you buy from it, and any appointment you book through it. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

1. Nothing here is medical advice

This is the most important clause on the page, so it goes first.

Hairloss Rescue is a hair and scalp studio. We are not a medical practice, and nothing on this site — no article, no product description, no consultation summary — diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents any disease. Every product we sell is a cosmetic or an over-the-counter preparation. Our trichologist holds a trichology certification, not a medical licence.

See a physician or a dermatologist before you start anything here if you have sudden shedding, hair loss in patches, pain, burning, scaling, bleeding, sores, or loss that follows an illness, a new medication or a pregnancy. If the pattern in the chair looks scarring, autoimmune or sudden, we stop, we say so, and we refer you out. That referral is free and always will be.

2. Results

Hair responds slowly, unevenly, and not to everyone. Nothing on this site is a promise about your own result. The before-and-after photographs are real clients, photographed at the same magnification at the start and at week thirteen, published with their permission — they show what happened to that person, which is not a forecast of what will happen to you.

3. Products

• Follow the manufacturer’s directions and the leaflet in the box. Where our copy and the pack disagree, the pack is right — formulations change and packaging is updated before a website is.
• Patch test before first use. Stop at the first sign of irritation.
• Minoxidil products marked “for men” are not for use by women. Keep every topical away from children and from pets: minoxidil is seriously toxic to cats.
• Supplements are food supplements. They do not replace a varied diet, and you should speak to a doctor before taking them alongside prescription medication or while pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Microneedling and low-level laser devices carry their own instructions and their own contraindications. Read them.

4. Orders

An order placed on the site is an offer to buy. The contract is formed when we dispatch the goods, not when the checkout confirms. Until then we may decline or cancel an order — if an item is out of stock, if a price was published in error, if we suspect fraud, or if the quantity looks like resale rather than personal use. Where we cancel, we refund in full.

Prices are in US dollars. Oregon levies no sales tax, so an order shipped or a service bought here is charged at the listed price; tax may still apply to orders we ship to other states, and it is calculated at checkout where it does. We may change prices at any time — the price at the moment you order is the price you pay.

5. Appointments, deposits and cancellations

• Booking through the form is a request, not a confirmation. The appointment exists once we have written back with a time.
• A $50 deposit holds any appointment longer than two hours. A $250 deposit holds an extension fitting or the twelve-week density programme. It comes off the final bill.
• Move or cancel with at least forty-eight hours’ notice and there is no charge. Inside forty-eight hours we keep the deposit — a four-hour colour slot cannot be refilled on the day.
• Arrive late and we will do what fits in the remaining time, at the full price of the booked service.
• We may decline a service we consider unsafe for your hair or your scalp. We will explain why and offer the alternative we would actually do.

6. Your account

Keep your details accurate and your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your login until you tell us it has been compromised.

7. Using the site properly

Do not scrape it, hammer it, break into it, test its security without our written permission, impersonate anyone, upload anything malicious, or use it for anything unlawful. Do not resell our product photography or copy our text onto another shop.

8. What belongs to whom

The text, photography, layout and code of this site belong to Hairloss Rescue Inc. or are used under licence. Product names, packaging and brand marks belong to their manufacturers and appear here to identify what we sell, which is not a claim of endorsement by them or of ownership by us.

9. Anything you send us

Send us a review, a photograph or a suggestion and it stays yours — but you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to publish it on the site and in the studio, with your first name only unless you tell us otherwise. Do not send us anything you do not have the right to send. You can ask us to take it down at any time.

10. Other people’s sites

We link out to manufacturers and to published research. We do not control those pages and are not responsible for them.

11. Disclaimers

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of anything harmful, and to the fullest extent the law allows we exclude the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Nothing here excludes a warranty that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of the site, a product or a service is limited to the amount you paid us for the thing complained of. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits or lost data.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

13. Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law and that costs us money, you agree to cover the reasonable cost of dealing with it.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Multnomah County, Oregon, and both of us submit to their jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the state where you live.

15. The rest

If a clause is unenforceable, the rest still stands. Our not enforcing something once does not mean we have given it up. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, the Shipping Policy and the Return & Refund Policy, are the whole agreement between us. We may update them; the version on this page at the time you order or book is the one that governs.
